Moments stolen from everyday life, immortalized first by memory, then by painting: Oscar Piovosi has always loved to travel, discover, investigate the world in all its aspects and from the pleasure of departure to the desire for knowledge it is a small and immediate step. Thus painting becomes, for the artist, an instrument of sharing and remembrance, and his paintings become snap-shots of expectations, suspended moments, metaphysical and silent. It is precisely this version of the human, immersed in a real, urban space that transforms his work into research and experimentation, not only on the figure and on the landscape but also, and above all, on the spirit of Being.
In the metaphysical and alienated interpretation of Being, Oscar Piovosi rediscovers the suggestion of the encounter, the flow of time real and imagined at the same time, that feeling of belonging to life that is felt in investigating and discovering corners of the world and corners of the spirit. The theme of travel, recurring in the works of Oscar Piovosi, is also affected by his innate sense of observation, the ability to block an instant, derived from his experiences in the photographic field.
Painting, however, admits a further step, allowing the artist to insert himself, his emotion into a gesture or a sign, through a color or a light modeled following instinct and style.
