Guido Folco

They are moments stolen from everyday life, immortalized first with memory, then with painting: Oscar Piovosi has always loved to travel, discover, investigate the world in all its aspects, and from the pleasure of leaving to the desire to know the step is short and immediate. Thus painting becomes, for the artist, an instrument of sharing and remembrance, and his paintings snapshots of waiting, suspended moments, metaphysical and silent.
It is precisely this vision of man, immersed in a real, urban space that makes each of his works research and experimentation not only on the figure and landscape, but also and above all on the spirit of Being. In the metaphysical and alienated interpretation of Being, Oscar Piovosi rediscovers the suggestion of encounter, the flow of a time that is real and imagined at the same time, that feeling of belonging to life that one feels in investigating and discovering corners of the world and corners of the spirit.
The theme of travel, recurring in Oscar Piovosi's works, is also affected by his innate sense of observation, the ability to freeze an instant, derived from his experiences in photography. Painting, however, allows a further step, allowing the artist to insert himself, his emotion into a gesture or a sign, into color or light shaped following instinct and style.
